About

2GHR (Greater Hume Radio Incorporated) is a Community Broadcaster in the heart of the Greater Hume Shire at Holbrook, New South Wales.

The station aims to fill the void left by other broadcasters in the region, by providing alternative and local content to the towns and communities surrounding Culcairn, Cookardinia, Gerogery, Holbrook, Henty & Morven.

Greater Hume Radio Incorporated was established by a group of like minded volunteers with the passion for driving an idea that had been thought by many for some time. A committee was made up in 2008 and worked hard throughout the year to secure facilities and equipment for the station to begin broadcasting in it’s initial form in late 2009 only covering Holbrook and surrounds on a low powered service broadcasting from the town’s centre.

In early 2010 the team expanded and with new technical direction was able to relocate transmission equipment to Mount Mackenzie, south of Holbrook and increase power to get one step closer to the original plans of covering the shire.

Throughout 2011 we were able to with the support of our local Council, relocate into new facilities and construct a brand new purpose built on air studio which was opened officially in February 2012 by then Mayor of the shire Denise Osborne.

Recent upgrades have included a new broadcast tower, which is improving service to major communities in the shire.

The station has continued to benefit from the communities of the shire with the addition of more volunteers and supporters to continue the vision of being the Shire’s only community broadcaster.

We are available to listen to on 96.7fm if you are within the Greater Hume Shire or online in Stereo quality by clicking the Listen Live button.
